Muizenberg Self Catering Accommodation
This Marina Da Gama self-catering accommodation is peaceful. The chairman of the enclosed lake development was sitting on the deck with friends when they said “Yes, now I can understand your move to the Marina, where else can you have what you’ve got here…your own piece of heaven!”
This Muizenbeg self-catering accommodation is amongst these white walled homes - like Greece. But this one is enclosed, private and on the water. Right there. The chairman said, "the geese arrive at your doorstep showing off their young. Our Mr Bles (the coot) is chasing the ducks with greater vigour and we notice that Arthur and Martha (the Crested Grebes) are back doing their complicated mating dance up and down the canal.
This is not just another self-catering home. You are near the Muizenberg beaches, close to Cape Town but who wants to go anywhere if you're staying at this three bedroom home.
As you walk through the high walled gate you enter the garden with inviting pool and grass lawn. The house is built in an L shape. On the left is the double garage, followed by the three rooms and three bathrooms - one en-suite. The main bedroom leads out on the garden. In the L's corner is the lovely kitchen. Around the L's corner you get the dinning area. Now you can choose to walk out onto the deck next to (on top of) the lake or to the lounge area.
You get two outside entertainment areas; one next to the pool and one onto the lake. The lake deck is where the "piece (peace) of heaven" exists. Quietly you can watch the birds or you get into the pedal boat and off you go. If this is not a family paradise then I don't know....
You are your party have access to this private home and it's lockable garage. You don't share with anyone. The lake is obviously not yours alone.
You can make contact with us when you need to . We are there to make your stay a pleasure.
The neighborhood consists of similar houses all along the lakes. Some are on the water like this one. Others not. These homes are loved by families with kids due to all the water activities. There are also some homes with retired people. The community is very conscious of nature and especially water and the birds flocking to water.
A car is important. You can use taxis to get to the nearest station in Muizenberg.

“This is a proper holiday house! We loved our stay here! It is as beautiful as the pictures show, maybe more so! The patio over the lake is lovely with a great view of the sunset and so many beautiful birds! My son loved feeding the ducks and we all enjoyed trying to classify all the types of birds we were seeing. The paddle boat was such a fun bonus and we did lots of exploring. But when it’s too windy for the lake side patio, there’s the nice pool side area that gives shelter and privacy. Not to mention comfy seating and a barbeque! The beds are comfy, and the bathrooms (3!!) are beautiful. T he kitchen is not only designed well, but has everything I could have wanted for cooking. That dishwasher is also a great thing! Secure parking is a plus as I would say you will want a car if staying here, though there is shopping and the beach that are probably walkable. We were surprised how well the location worked for city, winery and beach access. It was ideal for our needs. I wish I was back there now, and I hope I will be again someday!”

We totally loved our stay here. It’s such an amazing property, we just didn’t want to leave it!! It’s like home away from home – though our home’s no where near as lovely as this…for a start it has no pool, nor a lake that you can overlook whilst supping your local wine, and we don’t have the weather to go with it, even in the midst of summer. You simply cannot go wrong by booking this property, it’s wonderful.
“Thank you for the use of this lovely home during our too-short stay in Muizenberg. The home was everything described and even more. the lake and out door activities kept us busy and entertained throughout our stay. The home was clean and neat and beautifully decorated. We thankful for the wood fire place that looked newly installed – as it kept us warm during a particularly cold night. The pool was clean and well maintained and we were lucky enough to experience a day warm enough in which to enjoy the pool. It is completely private and just what I wanted. I would certainly recommend this home to all my friends and family. ”
Left on Dec 7, 2016 for a stay in Nov 2016We have stayed at lake side home for 5 nights and enjoyed our stay there. Ir is much more better than the photos in the website. The view is awesome, the pool is good and the rooms are clean and comfortable. There is also a paddle boat which you can ride on the lake and enjoy the weather. The manager is so kind and helpful. I will definitely stay there If I want to go to Cape Town again.Tehran, Iran
We really enjoyed our stay at Eastlake Island. We were very impressed with the way you promptly responded to emails. Eastlake is the best family holiday resort we have visited in the past 3 years. It is a prime location which is conveniently situated between popular beaches and Cape Town City center. We found the holiday home very relaxing with modern facilities. The lake and fresh water pool is very ideal for a sun downer and braai. We valued your good and professional advice and we will not hesitate to refer friennds and business associates to you and we will definitely come back for another holiday in the near future. However, we would have appreciated internet service, a microwave and possibly car hire facility links with the car hire people in Cape Town. Loveness Mutezo
What a house… We have called this Muizenberg house home for two weeks, and we loved every second of it. Beautiful architecture, cosy and convenient, a wonderful environment and view, a pool very much enjoyed by the kids, despite the winter season, a nice fireplace, convenient and well equipped bathrooms. We would love to stay here permanently. Or move it to our home country 🙂 To add to the house itself: Johan was a wonderful host, easily reachable, quick to respond to inquiries and very helpful. To summarize: we highly recommend this Airbnb house
” Google Translation: ” The accommodation was exactly as described on the website, with a comfortable lounge, a beautiful dining room and three bedrooms, each with private bathroom . All was well equipped . The terrace of the marina was nice to have breakfast . The pool in the garden was also very nice . However, we never saw the owner . This however had responded quickly to our questions by email exchange before our trip . There is a small supermarket (petrol station) close ( by car) and open 24 / 24 . Handy …. Muizenberg is located halfway between Cape Town and Cape Point . But the distances are quite long (50 min to go to the Waterfront in Cape town ) . We must therefore provide for relatively long distances to each tour . We keep very good memories of this accommodation . “
