There are so many yummy places to eat. The Olympia Café is the best-known of Kalk Bay’s culinary treasures (and for good reason – such heavenly baked treats!) but wander around the small side streets
and you’ll find a plethora of small bakeries, ice cream shops and eateries, all begging to be sampled. Or of course there’s the fresh fish. Yum.
After that we began our drive around the peninsula driving through Muzenberg, stopping for lunch at Kalk Bay (where they catch fresh fish in the little harbor), then driving through Fishhoek, Simonstown, and stopping at Boulders Beach where there are tons of penguins (we were there when many were lying on their eggs ). We then made our way to Cape Point where we climbed the steepest hill up the lighthouse and were able to see where the Atlantic and the Pacific oceans meet. “

Hendelina Hamukanda is one of the most interesting Ekoka artists and one of my firm favourites. Born in Oshana, north of Okongo, she now lives in Ekoka with her grandmother and her two children. She is in her late 20’s and has five brothers and 3 sisters.
A few weeks ago we stayed in a lovely St James home, between Muizenberg and Kalk Bay. Over the road, and we were next to the beach, on this same walk. One morning to Kalk Bay and the other morning to Muizenberg. Coffee at Knead in Muizenberg or coffee at Olympia Cafe. Olympia opens at six thirty in the morning and it’s great for early walkers like me.
