How Can You Ask What’s The Cape Town Weather Like?

Before I share some ideas on the weather in Cape Town here’s a quote that explain my motto about life and weather in general:

Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating; there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather.
John Ruskin

Obviously Cape Town is not know for snow but I am sure you get the idea. For us Cape Townians everyday is a holiday. Cape Town is just such a happy place that weather can change our plans but never damp our spirit.

And are invited to join us……

want to repeat using another string of words:

Did you now know that Cape Town never has bad weather?

But Cape Town February weather is even better. That’s if you like sunny weather.

Let me answer the question:

What’s Cape Town Weather Like?

Most of the people who can afford not to visit Cape Town over peak time visit Cape Town during February.

Many of these visitors we call swallows. They stay for a month or two and then leave. They say the best time is February.

Locals that I know will tell you that Cape Town February weather is when the South Easter wind stops blowing as strongly as it normally.

I am no weather fundi but I experience the Cape Town weather 365 days a year for many years now.

And I am always looking forward to a lovely Cape Town February. We get lovely calm days with sunshine, a little breeze and some wine. Today is such a day. It’s 2 of February in Cape Town and the sun is out. Today we have no breeze. Everyone is at the beach.

This is a Saturday. But let me tell you on any Cape Town February. with weather like today, 2 February, we are out and about.

Here’s some boring Cape Town February Weather Facts

Average daily maximum temperature: 27 degrees C (81 degrees F)

Average daily minimum temperature: 16 degrees C (61 degrees F)

Average monthly rainfall: 17mm (0.7 inches)

Days with > 1 mm rain: 5

And you get long days. It’s light be for six in the morning and the sun late: between 19h30 and 20h00. What else do you want?

Here’s a graph that shows the average monthly Cape Town temperatures (source).

February is not peak holiday but it’s still high and you will still pay some premium on your Cape Town holiday accommodation. But with Cape Town weather like we are having in February I always suggest to people to come for a long stay. Stay for a month at least. Then you can negotiate a better Cape Town accommodation deal.

Let’s have fun in Cape Town ….

Nature is so powerful, so strong. Capturing its essence is not easy – your work becomes a dance with light and the weather. It takes you to a place within yourself.
