Have you been to Pot Luck Club Cape Town? One of the restaurants not to be missed out – during your next visit. Living in Cape Town we can go there throughout the year but you may not get a seat if you don’t book today for your visit.

Let’s have a look at what Potluck means (By the way the restaurant spell it as Pot Luck and not Potluck:

To the Irish, a potluck was a meal with no particular menu. Everyone participating brought a dish for all to share. The term comes from a time when groups of Irish women would gather together and cook dinner. They only had one pot so they cooked the meal together with whatever ingredients they happened to have that day.

At The Pot Luck Club you will not find a lot of Irish women cooking for a get together. But if you want a friendly get together with delightfully different food then The Pot Luck Club is your best bet. The owner of this restaurant is also the owner of the famous The Test Kitchen, another one you may find difficult to get a booking.

As we sat down friendly waitresses introduced us to The Potluck way. You get to choose various tapas syled dishes priced about R60 each, and some more than R120. Three such disch would suffice. But we wanted more. The wine is well priced and we walk out there feeling great.

The restaurant is high up on an old silo. The lift one moving glass cage and not for the faint hearted, like Elmarie.  Image credit and review.

According to Bubbastyle: This restaurant was hopping, and for good reason. The menu features some interesting dishes with Asian-inspired flavors served in a “small plates” format. We had some very good cocktails (you gotta try the pineapple cosmopolitan-type drink) and tasty food. The one dish we didn’t enjoy was the Korean fried chicken…

And DudleyFeebish said: This is without doubt the best dining experience in Cape Town. Each small meal is utterly sensational. The restaurant is informal and relaxing with great views. And the service is friendly and impeccable. What a great vibe! Let the waiter make suggestions and just enjoy.

One of our favourites was the mutton (below. Image credit):

Go and try it. You will have a lot of fun.  And let me know. Contact them here.
