Wood Fired Hot Tub: Can It Address Low Occupancy During Winter?

Good question. People want a break from the cold winter in and around Cape Town. They have very many choices. Every owner fight for attention and most of them do it based on competitive rates. But that’s not ideal. You have to find another way. Let’s call it uniqueness.

During winter we get people asking for heated pools and jacuzzis. Both of these options are expensive to run. And to expect favours from Eskom is like expecting Telkom to support you. Not a good idea.

I like the idea of a Wood Fired Hottub:

A wood fired hot tub could turn your accommodation into a destination. And instead of an Eskom consumer, it’s wood driven. Apparently, one bag of food can get the bath to 38 Degrees C. Not bad. Now you can provide a bag of wood and the guest is responsible for extra usage. During summer the tub can double up as a small pool.

I saw somewhere these wood fired hot tubs are less than R20 000. Not bad.
